New Format!

I would like to keep my control and look of the site while also progressing to actual comment areas and other bells and whistles. If any of the geniuses I know (and I do know a few) can help me out there, please send in suggestions. I will also be starting archive pages of the Home Page articles. I'm also looking for a new banner for the top of the page. Anyone want some free publicity?

For the most part, this section will be a quick reference to what's new.

I'm hoping to update with some movie reviews soon. I've recently seen Harold & Kumar 2, and will be seeing some of the new summer films soon, so it really shouldn't be that difficult to keep that up. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't manage to screw it all up anyway.

And if you haven't lately, check out my illustration portfolio and new Sketchbook section at original sin studios.

6/12/08:

Irony was completely lost on Bush today, as he stated that using phrases like "bring them on" and "dead or alive" had "indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace." And as the only President to start a war, he is surely the Buddha of our times. Bush told The Times he wanted to "leave behind a series of structures that makes it easier for the next president" to deal with important issues, and and would probably stay his course after realizing "what will work and what won't work in dealing with Iran." Bush, in the same day, also warned that "All options are all the table" in regards to Iran. Go, man of peace!

Somehow, I don't think even McCain is on Bush's page as he says in a recent campaign ad, "Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war." Really, could he try and separate himself more from the reigning monarch Bush?

6/7/08:

Hillary Clinton, finally left her room after three full days of sulking following Tuesday's primaries that closed the door on her campaign, like you do that one uncle who won't stay out of your cooking sherry. Her staff, worried since she slammed the door late Tuesday/early Wednesday morning, and started loudly spinning Doors records without a word to them, were relieved as she emerged seeming well (well, except for all that black shit under her eyes that she immediately ran to the bathroom to clean up, while shrieking, "Don't Look At Me!") In a matter of minutes, she returned, composed and ready to wave the white flag. She later made a call to the Obama campaign HQ (for the 37th time) to extoll her qualities as a solid running mate, while simultaneously cleaning an antique revolver. Though not confirmed, it was reported that Barack yawned and returned to making cute little fist bumps with his wife, isn't dat precious?

(Editorial: I'm sorry for that last line, but I never thought I'd see a news story make me pine for the Gore family "slut in the sheets" kiss of 2000.)

The US Senate has finally made what protestors have been saying for years official. Senate committee chairman, John Rockefeller (D-WV) stated, "The president and his advisors undertook a relentless public campaign in the aftermath of the (September 11) attacks to use the war against al Qaeda as a justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein. Representing to the American people that the two had an operational partnership and posed a single, indistinguishable threat was fundamentally misleading and led the nation to war on false premises."
The saddest part of all this is that all of this was proven, and verifiable, from the reports made by Bush's inspectors/administrators in Iraq before the 2004 election. It also took Bush two years after 9/11, and until after "major combat operations" had ended in Iraq to admit Iraq had not been involved in the September 11th attacks. In fact, to this day, there are a great deal of Americans who believe A) Iraq was involved, and B) WMDs were found. In other studies, they've called those Americans, FOX News watchers.

Never Surrender! - 6/3/08

Even as her competitor claims victory in the Democratic Primary, Ms. Clinton is refusing to go down gracefully. Behind in the popular vote, delegates and fundraising, she will not concede. Of course, this falls in line with her views throughout the campaign, as she said in a speech last night, "Let me put it to you this way, you're a nervous white Midwestern voter. Come on, who're you going to vote for? (whispered) He's black, you know." Obama issued this response, "I don't know, Hey, I'm just a rhyme sayer, Skins protected 'gainst the ozone layer, Breakdown 2001, It might be best to be Black or just Brown, Countdown!" He, of course, did not credit the lines to Public Enemy and later apologized.

Though promising to wait and see in the next few days "how to move forward with the best interests of our country and our party guiding my way," she also proved once again, that she may have gotten into this campaign for the wrong reasons also stating, "Bill had his interns, it's my time to get my dick sucked!" And while rumors of an interest of joining the Obama ticket in a VP role, crickets were once again heard from Obama's camp as they clearly have no interest in what the press has dubbed a "dream ticket." Obama has been kind enough to offer an audience with the former first lady once she regains her grip on reality. It may be a while before they have that little sit down. In all honesty, I predict she will continue her claims of relevance until the convention, rush the stage as Obama makes way for his acceptance speech, shoot him, grab the mic, shout, "I'm Charles Foster Kane!" before finally turning the gun on herself, or being gunned down by the secret service.

No Blood for Oil - 5/29/08

I don't think there is anything ironic about "no war for oil" vs. gas prices. I believe Bush did, in fact, start a war for oil, in any degree that he wasn't doing it to show up his father, once again. Of course, as is his usual, he fucked things up worse than they were before, and gas prices shot through the roof. It's not that the protesters were wrong, it's that he managed to fail, once again. Seriously, there is no reason that in 2003 people were worried that crude was going to pass the $50/barrel mark, and now, only 5 years later, it's running $130-$140/barrel. It's Bush fucking up lives, fucking up the economy, and really it comes as no surprise when you put a man who has never run a successful business in charge of the "leader of the free world's" bank accounts. From surpluses to continued record deficits and lopsided foreign trade debt in his first four years, and nothing's changing but how hard life is for the average American.

Of course, it doesn't help that we aren't making the Iraqi government start paying for it's own reconstruction with its oil money, but the administration keeps the burden on the American people and our taxes. And I love that Bush remarked that we helped rebuild after WWII, and that we shouldn't shirk our burden any more than then in our current times. I think the major difference is that WWII had definitive ending points, Mussolini was hung upside down from a flag pole, Hitler shot himself in a bunker, innocents were flash fried to show our power. However, in the current wars (and if you forgot, we're fighting in Afghanistan, which we've largely abandoned and the Taliban and Al Qaeda are slowly taking over the country again, and Iraq,) we've removed the enemy from power, killed leaders of their camps, and those "wars" are not over. How do you reconstruct a current war zone? The structure we build today could just as easily be destroyed by our missles tomorrow. Doesn't sound like a very good business plan to me, Georgie Poo.

Just another way the common American is suffering. I can think of someone who should turn the fucking gun on himself, but he's too busy empathizing by not playing golf.
